This time i have a post with five reasons for becoming a vegetarian and it is just that one day i would like to do it!! at first i considered to become vegetarian because of the animals, but i searched in the internet and i found some advantages for being vegetarian, so if you have ever thought about it as i did maybe these five reasons convince you:
- You might lose weight by avoiding saturated fat in meat, butter and the animal fat used in baked goods, desserts and fried foods.
- Vegetarians have lower risk to suffer from anaemia, appendicitis, arthritis, constipation, diabetes, gallstones, gout, hypertension (high blood pressure), indigestion, haemorrhoids and varicose veins.
- Save water. It takes one hundred times more water to produce a pound of beef than a pound of wheat. We have a growing world shortage of fresh water
- Cancer prevention. Of all the natural cancer prevention substances found: vitamin C, B-17, hydroquionenes, beta carotene, NDGA, - none has been found to be animal derived.
- Food costs. Vegetarian foods tend to cost less than meat based items.

Being a vegetarian is a great idea as long as you make sure to get enough of the things that meat is good for (e.g. protein, iron etc.)
ReplyDeleteA sixth reason to go veg: global warming. The easiest way to reduce your carbon footprint is by eating less meat. Cow's are the worst because of all of the water they need and the amount of energy the need to be raised.
